Bouncing into your world on 11 January 2007 @ 9:18 p.m.
I haven't updated here for a few days as I have had the crappiest of weeks. My new styled diet still isn't doing the job. I am still holding too much water. I thought I would be naturally getting out as much as I put it in, but I am still so bloated. My stomach is swollen so much I look 5 months pregnant and despite my best efforts I am getting really annoyed and wondering why I bother. It was no surprise I put on weight this week with my tummy in such turmoil and confusion. I was surprised though that according to my scale, I have put on 7lb in a week. I don't think that my scales are 100% great after catching a little boy jumping on them the other day. I am not that deflated though. I have kept to exercising. Still doing 10-15 miles per day. Despite the stomach "rapid growth" I see shape in my legs. For the first time in years they resemble the shape of calves. I also see things that look vaguely like ankles. They are rock hard muscles though. A friend did suggest that my weight gain is probably a)70% water retention and b)If I am exercising as much as I have been after a break, I could be at the in-between state where my body changes and I develop more defined muscles (leg shape change???) If I am gaining muscle, muscle weighs more than fat so I am told. Still, I don't like putting on lbs whatever the reason. Must try harder. I am eating pretty good so I am pretty annoyed. I am eating more fresh fruit and veg and trying to cut down on the heavy carbs. I will eat a lot of veg and salad where possible. I just want to reduce starch products. However this does NOT appear to be suiting my body. There are so many diets, so many rules on so many things I am willing to try most of them but my body does not like this one. Losing the starch I crave sugar. Hob Nob biscuits to be precise. I've eaten a packet in 2 days as I substituted them as a meal 2 days running. *Slaps Wrist* But the trouble with too much starch is starch actually turns to a form of sugar/glucose once absorbed in the body. My body is just breaking it down so so much slower and my digestive system isn't coping. I am getting back into the habit of eating earlier in the day again and drinking less before bed. Today, my weight was back down 3lb but that would still make it 4lb on. Ow. I have heartburn. Too much chilli in my homemade salsa for tea tonight I need to go back to what was working best before. A little of everything and not trying to cut down or cut out certain things. Just limit it. Yesterday I ate out as it was little ones 3rd birthday. Today I cooked prawn and veg kebabs with rice. Tonight for tea, I skipped cake and made some home made salsa (VERY RICH AND VERY VERY SPICY!!!!!!) with a mini healthy living Naan bread (150 cals for naan bread- HEAVEN) Tomorrow is Shepherds pie for dinner. Mince and veg with mashed potato topping. In it, I put onions, carrots and peas. Then serve it with broccoli, more carrots and parsnips. I cook extra veg and save it as an evening snack when I do this type of dinner. Also going to start taking some water tablets to try and shift that bloating Saturday is Spaghetti Bolognese day. Sunday I will do a veg curry again but make it like a thick soup rather than a thick sauce and make it last all day as a detox meal. No additional starch for the rest of the day. Lots of water and fresh veg. Monday, Grilled cajun chicken, jacket potato and sweetcorn.
Currently: 13st 7lb. 189lbs. Total loss: 6st 13lb. 100lbs.
